Spring is coming and the weather is warming up. With Spring break approaching, we thought we would list a few of our favorite kid-friendly hikes in Washington County, Utah. With its stunning red rock formations and diverse landscapes, this area offers some amazing kid-friendly hikes that are sure to create lasting memories. So, grab your hiking boots, sunscreen, and water bottles, and let's embark on a family-friendly adventure you won't forget!

1. Red Reef Trail:
Location: Red Cliffs Recreation Area
Length: Approximately 1.5-mile round trip
Our first stop takes us to the Red Cliffs Nature Trail, where your kiddos can become junior geologists. The trailhead is easily accessible and is a short drive from St. George. You'll venture through a picturesque desert landscape with towering red rock cliffs. Keep an eye out for curious lizards, colorful wildflowers, and if you're lucky, beautiful waterfalls! Red Cliffs is a perfect spot to go as a family. The hikes are very child-friendly, and the natural pools make for a great place to cool off.

2. Johnson Canyon Arch Trail:
Location: Snow Canyon State Park
Length: 2 miles round trip
This hike is a treasure hunt for your little adventurers! You'll meander through a narrow canyon and stumble upon a hidden gem: the Johnson Canyon Arch. Kids will love exploring the twists and turns of the trail, and the arch makes for the perfect backdrop for a family photo op.

3. Petrified Dunes Trail:
Location: Snow Canyon State Park
Length: Approximately 1-mile round trip
Imagine hiking through a landscape that feels like another planet - that's what the Petrified Dunes Trail at Snow Canyon State Park offers! Jenny's Canyon Trail:
Location: Snow Canyon State Park
Length: 0.4 miles round trip
Journey to Jenny's Canyon for a short and sweet hike that's perfect for the littlest adventurers. This easy, flat trail leads to a shaded slot canyon with a hidden surprise - a small pothole arch! It's a fantastic place to cool off on a hot day and let your kids' imaginations run wild.
5. Kanarraville Falls Trail:

Length: 3.5 miles round trip
While this hike is a bit longer and might be better suited for older kids (around 8 years and up), it's definitely worth the effort. The trail follows a picturesque stream, and your family will have a blast wading through the water and exploring the slot canyons.
